Joseph C. Eaheart Jr. Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship History

The Joseph C. Eaheart, Jr. Endowment was established July 27, 2002 by Dee Eaheart. The first scholarship was given in 2004.

What do ESA sisters talk about while riding to the airport? ESA and family. Dee asked Flora Burns for suggestions on what she could get her husband for his birthday. She immediately suggested an endowment in his honor. After a little thought she said, “Great idea”. He was the type of man who would pay the young people in our community to make good grades and would often reward them with money and take them to dinners and even took one of the kids on a cruise with them.

Brenda Orbaugh was state president and she was delighted to be invited to his party to present the endowment to him. He was thrilled and said to several friends and family “I know now why I married that girl.” Sadly, Joseph passed away suddenly before he got to be with Dee to present the first scholarship. But what better way to continue his love and eagerness for young people to learn.
