Les and Rosalee Echele Family Scholarship
Scholarship History
The Les and Rosalee Echele Family Endowment was established by Les and Rosalee Echele January 25, 2002. The first scholarship was awarded in 2004.
Rosalee has been a member of ESA for 42 years and served two three year terms on the ESA Foundation beginning in 1995. During that time she served as Chairman for two years. She has been the webmaster since 1998 when the ESA Foundation went on the web and has served as an advisor to the Board.
At the end of the ESA Foundation meeting during the IC Convention in 2000, Cheryl Kowalczyk surprised Rosalee with the Dixie Palmer Award. Rosalee also surprised Les with the Stewardship Award in 2001 because of his endless support to all of the ESA and ESAF projects in which she was involved.
Neither Rosalee nor Les attended college and made many sacrifices to make sure their children had a quality education at private Catholic schools. Knowing how hard it is for some families to be able to afford college was the reason they decided to fund an endowment.
Their friends and family continue to contribute to their Endowment especially in honor of their 60th wedding anniversary.
