Lynn and Rich Hughes Family Scholarship
Scholarship History

The Lynn and Rich Hughes Family Endowment was established by Lynn and Rich Hughes, July 17, 2004.

Lynn and Rich established this endowment because they believe in the ESA Foundation Endowment program and to honor their family.  In January, 2005, Lynn’s mother, Patti Erickson, Portland, Oregon, passed away and in April, 2005, Rich’s father, Richard T. Hughes, Roseburg, Oregon, passed away.  The money from their estates made it possible to fully fund this endowment.

Rich and Lynn celebrate their parents, their children, and their grandchildren by presenting this endowment to the ESA Foundation.

Lynn served as the Oregon State Council President in 1995-96.  She also served on the ESA Foundation Board of Directors for two – three year terms, 2003-2009.  2007-2008, Lynn served as the ESA Foundation Chairman.  She is a retired high school counselor who dedicated her career to bringing young people opportunities in education.  Lynn continues her goal of educational opportunities for young people.  Lynn and Rich volunteer at a local high school to mentor youth to find paths to opportunities beyond high school.   Both Lynn and Rich Hughes are dedicated to helping people find the funding for education.
