Margaret “Peggy” Rader Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship History

The Margaret [Peggy] Rader Memorial Endowment was established through her estate bequest to the foundation March 1, 2008.  The first scholarships were given in 2009.

Peggy was a lifetime member of ESA.  She joined Lambda Xi #311, Seattle, Washington in January 1951.  She received many awards on the International and State level for her Philanthropic work and donations.

She served in all chapter offices and was the chapter president six times.  Peggy was Chapter Woman of the Year three times.  She was the driving force behind Lambda Xi’s Annual Salad Supper / Christmas auction, which was always successful due to Peggy’s contribution of floral arrangements and Christmas wreaths.

Peggy served in all chairmanships in Washington State and was the Washington State Council President in 1966-67.

Peggy donated many hours and money to all Washington Council Projects.  Her Love of the Scholarship / Foundation program was evident by the sizeable amount from her estate to benefit the Scholarship program for students for many years to come.

Peggy was very active in her Alumni Association.  She financially assisted a young man through medical school and then assisted him during his residency.
