Helping Hands of WSC Scholarship
Scholarship History

The Helping Hands of WSC Endowment was established by the Western States Council May 26, 2002. The first scholarship was given in 2006.

At the Western States Council [WSC] Board meeting in Tucson, AZ, on January 10, 2002, with Kathy Quadrato presiding, the idea of a WSC Scholarship through the Foundation was first broached. There was $1545 raised through the Helping Hands Walk at the Fling that year, no applications for the scholarship were received. The Board recommended that Marilee Dunn, as the Helping Hands chairman and Fling Treasurer, present the following: “that a WSC Scholarship through the ESA Foundation be started for the purpose of helping the WSC members.” The motion passed and the endowment was established May 26, 2002.
